Sample Nomination

My Grandfather is 69 years old and he coaches my youth football team twice a week, he arranges all of our matches on Saturdays and makes sure we have our kit and all the equipment we need. He also helps raise money for the club by phoning lots of local companies and arranging special events. During the week, he also helps look after the pitch where we train.

If we have a big match coming up he takes us for extra training sessions to make sure we’re really prepared. Sometimes, if you haven’t played that well you feel a bit fed up but he always cheers you up and motivates you for the next match.

My friends are all jealous that I have such an active Granda and I really think he deserves the Sports Award.

Sample Nomination

I would like to nominate my mum, she is in her 70’s and I don’t know how my family would cope without her. She looks after my dad who has had a number of health problems over the years and now has dementia, as well as doing that she helps me with my disabled child when I go out to work. She also minds some of my nieces and nephews. She always has time for us and we regularly get food parcels of buns and cakes. She never gets annoyed or angry, she really is amazing.

She also does a lot of work for her church, organising cake sales, doing the flowers and knitting for overseas charities. I really don’t know how she finds the time. I think my nomination for her would fit the volunteer and carer categories.
